      UV rays, wind, rain and hail can make polycarbonate resins brittle and contribute to colour loss over time. Advanced Weatherguard™ Technology protects the polycarbonate sheet from harmful UV radiation and minimises weather damage.

      Infrared light emitted from the sun passes through the polycarbonate sheet making it warm underneath. Comfort Cool™ Technology reflects the heat and reduces glare while still letting light through.

      High Wind Zone Information

      For installations in a high wind zone designated areas, the use of load spreading profile washers is advised. For information on Wind Zones, please refer to section 3.4.1 of the MRM Code of Practice (April 2008), which can be found on the New Zealand MRM Website.

        Both the overlapping ribs are spaced at 610 centres, allowing the overlapping rib to be positioned on the rafter effectively concealing the ribs when being viewed from below.

        Custom Glaze™ offers 99.9% UV protection and is extruded with an industry leading thickness of 2mm.

        Custom Glaze™ is available in all standard and custom lengths* up to 7.2 metres.

        RECOMMENDED ROOF PITCH:
        The recommended minimum roof pitch for Custom Glaze is five degrees.

        PURLIN SPACING:
        Custom Glaze is designed to be installed on purlins at a maximum of 1500mm centres.

        For installations in snow prone areas, the purlin spans should be reduced to a maximum of 610mm centres.

        NOISE STOP TAPE:
        Alsynite Noise Stop Tape should be installed on purlins prior to fixing the sheet to the purlins.

        FIXING CUSTOM GLAZE TO THE RAFTERS:
        Ensuring your Custom Glaze is presented in pristine condition, there is a protective film on both sides of the sheeting. This film can be peeled back off the sheets at install after drilling the fixing holes and prior to securing the fixing into the rafter.

        To fasten Custom Glaze, it is recommended that Custom Glaze Alsynite Multipurpose Fasteners are used. They are specifically designed for fixing Custom Glaze securely to the rafters. Custom Glaze must be fixed on both crests of every purlin.

        Custom Glaze has an overlapping rib and an underlapping rib, these are specifically designed so that the exact effective cover is maintained across the structure.

        Please ensure the over lapping side fits over the underlapping rib, refer to fixing instructions included in the pack.

            topglassGC

            Topglass® GC is the flagship of the Topglass® natural lighting family of products, and uses an innovative manufacturing process developed by Alsynite One NZ, whereby a 130 micron* EXO-SET 206 Premium Gelcoat is applied to the weather surface of the sheeting.

            Offering exceptional resistance against corrosive atmospheres and providing protection against solar deterioration, Topglass® GC brings additional benefits to building designers and owners.

            The ultimate benefit of the Topglass® GC product over general purpose grades of GRP natural roof lighting products is the addition of Alsynite One’s UV-stabilised 130 micron* EXOSET 206 Gelcoat surface which is a reactive thermo-set to provide a high gloss surface.

            Topglass Gel-coat Applications

            • Roof and wall lighting for commercial and industrial buildings requiring long-term natural lighting without early surface degradation.
            • Educational facilities (Schools, Universities, Polytechnics) and childcare centres.
            • Public outdoor areas requiring good UV protection.

              Topglass-FR50

              Topglass® GC FR50 is designed and supplied as a fire and smoke retardant natural lighting system for use in commercial and industrial buildings. This type of resin system alters the flammability point of the sheeting.

              Topglass® GC FR50 is glass reinforced polyester fire retardant sheeting that can be considered into building designs that specifically require reduced ignitability, flame propagation and heat and smoke release over conventional resin systems.

              Applications

              • Schools and educational institutions;
              • Public assembly areas;
              • Combustible areas with high fire risk;
              • Where egress from a building in the event of fire may be restrictive.
